 Tom Taylor, CPA/PFS
Principal & Portfolio Manager
Tom founded the firm in May 1998 as an independent investment firm specializing in providing individuals, families, small businesses and institutions with unbiased investment management and financial planning advice. He is an experienced investment manager and financial planner and is responsible for overseeing the firm’s investment advisory practice, financial and tax planning practice.
Tom’s investment philosophy is predicated on the belief that “properly allocated and individually managed investment portfolios should contain assets that are consistent with the goals and objectives of our clients and should be monitored continuously by principals with the highest standards of integrity, experience and investment acumen.”
Before founding the firm, Tom spent two years with the Corporate Finance division of the Baltimore based investment bank, Legg Mason, Inc. While at Legg Mason, Tom completed various common stock and merger transactions valued at over $1.4 billion. Tom began his career in the audit practice of the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP, also in Baltimore.
Educational Background
Tom graduated cum laude from Mount Saint Mary’s University, Emmitsburg, Maryland, in 1993 with degrees in Accounting and Finance and is a 1989 honors graduate of Calvert Hall College High School, in Towson, Maryland. He received his Certified Public Accountancy (CPA) license in 1996, is a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) and has completed the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) Series 65 exam.
In 2005 Tom was named “Most Outstanding Alumnus” of
Calvert Hall College High School, an honor he truly cherishes.
Personal Information
Tom and his wife Amy live in Kingsville with their four children. Tom is immediate Past-President of the Calvert Hall College High School Alumni Association and has served as Chairman of the Homecoming Committee for the past several years. He is a member of the President’s Advisory Council of Mount Saint Mary’s University and a member of the Knights of Columbus (Third Degree), Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Towson Chamber of Commerce. Tom is also a member of the Towson Elks and Towson Golf and Country Club.
Recently, Tom was elected to the Board of Directors of One Less Car, an advocate for safe and effective transportation alternatives in Maryland.
