Financial Planning

Financial Planning Services:    We believe that providing advice should be comprehensive.  Not all financial planners are created equal and we have the powerful combination of extensive tax expertise and comprehensive knowledge of financial planning.  Taking a look and developing strategies to address all areas of your financial life including tax planning, investment/retirement planning, education funding and real estate are all inter-related and should be addressed in one plan.  But it's not all about the numbers...how about care for loved ones and strategies to make sure your bills get paid if you get sick?  That's truely comprehensive.  Addtionally, we believe your financial planner, investment advisor and tax preparer should be the same person that has the acumen and depth of knowledge of your personal situation to advise you in all areas of your financial life.

The Process (a  financial plan takes between two and three weeks to complete)

  1. Initial meeting where we will broadly discuss your needs and goals (1-2 hours)
    • you will receive a document checklist and questionnaire ahead of this meeting
  2. Data gathering meeting (one week after the initial meeting)
    • we will review documents in detail and outline your plan
  3. Draft plan meeting (two weeks after the initial meeting)
    • we will outline your plan in summary and discuss our initial conclusions
  4. Final meeting (two to three weeks after initial meeting)
    • we will provide a detailed analysis of your plan along with a hard copy of your plan delivered in a three ring binder with reference points
  5. Implementation
    • you may hire us to implement and manage the plan or you are free to manage the plan on your own

Financial planning is an ongoing process.  We often say that the minute we deliver a financial plan it is out of date.  This phenominon is because you are continuously living your life, making decisions that will affect your plan and reacting to market conditions.  Our approach is to serve as your coach, helping you along the way to achieve your goals.  We set up a road map by meeting with you and learning about your needs and goals.  On an ongoing basis, either through regular meetings or communication, we will provide analysis on where you are in your plan and what if any changes may be necessary.

Typical Financial Planning fee: $1,500 (one time)
